Much digital ink has been spilled about the value of streaming, from its intangible impact on the music industry to the very tangible bottom line. Billboard crunched some numbers about the value of a single stream at both Spotify and Pandora, shedding a little light on who is getting what under the current deals.
The Spotify numbers compare the amounts for a stream on a free account and for a paid subscription. The Pandora figures include the payments made to the performer and backing musicians via SoundExchange as well as to the label and publisher. All the data has been compiled into a nifty infographic:
