Facebook adds more pan-European licensing deals

Facebook has taken its licensing deals across the Atlantic. The social network has signed pan-European deals with two performing rights organizations: SACEM in France and SOCAN in Canada. It also inked a pan-European deal with independent publisher Wixen in the U.S.

These latest agreements add to Facebook’s stable of both the European-centric deals, such as with online rights hub ICE, and its work with outlets from the major labels, including Warner Music Group and Sony/ATV. The licensing deals allow for content using these partners’ catalogs to be uploaded and shared across any of Facebook’s properties.
