Triton Digital’s Australian Podcast Ranker for august, a 10-page PDF listing 200 shows, has been released to our eager grasp.
As expected from previous monthly releases of this accounting, the Hamish & Andy podcast, produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, owns the #1 spot as it has in previous months. The show is published by LISTNR, which also handles sales representation. Triton’s measurement reports nearly 900,000 monthly listeners, and nearly 1.8 million monthly downloads. The show follows a weekly drop schedule and has four episodes measured in this report.
The publishing frequency is an important metric to us, as it bears upon the number of listeners and downloads. The non-sortable PDF version of the ranker is sorted by listeners. A sortable version is also available (HERE) but — sadly to us — that version omits the “New episodes” column which counts how many shows factor into the ranking numbers.
So, back to the unsortable PDF (HERE) where we see a fascinating (to us) interplay between monthly listeners, downloads, and number of new episodes. Below, that interplay in the top 20 Aussie podcasts:
We also enjoy searching for new entrants to the list. We find five newcomers:
Hysterical (Wondery)
3AW Wide World of Sports (Nine Radio)
Headlines on Health (Special Broadcasting Service)
Two Good Sports (ARN/iHeart)
Weekend One on One (Special Broadcasting Service)
