Triton Digital releases Q2 Podcast Ranker with dramatically enhanced features

Triton Digital released a dramatically upgraded and enhanced edition of its US Podcast Ranker. In this ranker, and presumably future ones, Triton lists three new audience intelligence features:

  • Top 200 Podcasts among Podcast Listeners Aged 18+
  • Top Podcasts for reaching specific high-value audience segments including socioeconomics, behaviors, and purchase intent
  • Podcast Genre Audience Profiles and Ranker

Triton promises to deliver these enhancements quarterly, with the normal lists in between.

Potent opportunities in podcast advertising extend well beyond the Top 50 hit shows — in fact, focusing spend on just the Top 50 podcasts limits total possible reach to only 49% of all monthly podcast consumers.

Triton asserts these new insights offer “a smarter, more strategic approach to media planning,” which seems self-evidently true.

Interestingly, Triton encourages advertisers to look beyond Triwon’s own ranker: “Potent opportunities in podcast advertising extend well beyond the Top 50 hit shows — in fact, focusing spend on just the Top 50 podcasts limits total possible reach to only 49% of all monthly podcast consumers.” Investing beyond the Top 50 unlocks a potential 84% of the podcast audience of listeners who consume at least one podcast beyond the Top 50, Triton says.
