Spotify podcast partner program swells in new expansion

Spotify announces that its Partner Program, which creates monetization pathways for creators, has undergone its largest geographic expansion since its founding in 2025. The service is now available to a larger global footprint that includes 35 new international markets. (Spotify says “more than 35,” but we don’t know why it is being intentionally vague. No matter.) The actual rollout of this broadening will occur in October. Specific new geographic markets include Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Poland, and Jamaica. (The full list is HERE.)

The expansion is good for creators, naturally, and Spotify emphases that point.

Spotify observes that premium subscribers in the affected market will experience fewer video ads; dynamically inserted commercials are removed from participating video podcasts. The creators’ baked-in ads remain in place.
