Jottings of note:
500 Stations + 5,000 Listeners = Techsurvey 2025
The date is April 15, 2pm ET. Jacobs Media will present the results of this year’s Techsurvey, which annually canvasses the P1 radio audience (core radio listeners) about their listening habits and preferences. We are promised that this year’s information will cover the impact of time-shifting, the popularity of online newsletters, how consumers are using YouTube, and the appeal of short-form videos and how radio stations can best utilize them. Radio’s strengths and vulnerabilities will be examined — for example, is personality more important than music in attracting listeners? This will be the 21st edition of Techsurvey. Inside Radio is a partner; Quu is the sponsor. Register (free) HERE.

She holds forth HERE.
The Big V
“In every coffee meeting, every drink in the bar, and every business lounge meetup, there was talk of video, video, video.” That’s Steve Pratt, author of Unconventional Strategies for Brave Marketers, co-founder of strategy consultancy DifferentiAgent, and former co-owner of branded podcast pioneer Pacific Content. His emphasis on video comes from a recent edition of his newsletter, The Creativity Business. He observes the mood of industry conversations around video: “Anxious. In some cases it was full-on existential angst.” What follows is a lengthy and detailed advisory piece about how to think about, and act on, video. “Abandon your platform-first thinking,” he counsels. And there is a gigantic list of questions for creators. Grapple with it HERE.
