Jottings of note:

Royalty

Guitarist Bernth Brodtrager is the subject of a success profile in Ultimate Guitar, focusing on his financial track record in Spotify. Brodtrager scrutinized his streaming royalty statements, isolated his Spotify activity, and figured out his income from 10-million Spotify streams. It is a little over $41,000. Not only a brag, Brodtrager made a video explaining how he (legitimately) worked the Spotify system. We figure he would have needed to sell about 4,100 CDs to equal that income in a previous era. Retrospection

Rather than a set of industry predictions, as Pacific Content has featured in the past, we find a retrospective piece — What worked in 2023. It’s a three-part series, focused on Production, Audience Development, and Brands in Podcasting. Contributors feature executive titans like Ross Adams (CEO, Acast) and Scott Simonelli (CEO, Veritonic) and leaders of marketing and network founders. The range of knowledge and opinion is compelling, and worth settling into.
