Libsyn podcasts to appear in Radio.com under new partnership with Entercom

Libsyn has entered a partnership with radio group Entercom that will see Libsyn’s library of podcasts added to Entercom’s Radio.com listening platform. All of Libsyn’s shows will have the choice to opt in to this distribution deal. Libsyn has more than 4.9 million episodes across about 62,000 active podcasts that will now be distributed to Entercom’s streaming platform. Libsyn has an audience of 111 million monthly active users (MAUs). Radio.com boasts an audience of monthly active users in the “tens of millions,” according to today’s press release.

In last month’s Q1 earnings call, Entercom CEO David Field noted, “Radio.com is thriving.” The call disclosed that digital revenue represented 10% of Entercom’s overall business, with Radio.com the leading source of that income. The app was characterized as “the fastest-growing digital audio app in the U.S., according to comScore, for the last 10 consecutive months.”

“The Radio.com partnership will make it easier for listeners to consume our great podcasts by making the podcasts directly available on an app they already use daily,” said Rob Walch, vice president of podcaster relations for Libsyn. “We are very excited for the growth that Radio.com will bring to podcasting and are thrilled to work directly with Entercom to make it very easy for all of the shows hosted on our service to be part of their digital platform.”

“As the fastest growing digital audio app in the country, we are laser-focused on providing the content we know our listeners want, wherever and however they want it,” Entercom Vice President of Business Development Corey Podolsky said. “Podcast listening on Radio.com continues to grow at an accelerating pace. Partnering with Libsyn to make it simple for podcasters to reach millions of listeners on our platform is a win for everyone.”
