Libsyn intros “Podroll” within its feeds for new creator revenue

Eminent podcast platform Libsyn is leveraging this week’s Podcast Movement event to introduce a new discovery and monetization tool called PodRoll with Libsyn

It’s a paid placement of a podcast’s episodes within another podcast’s feed.

The tool creates “You Might Also Like…” promotions within podcast feeds, showcasing episodes from similar shows on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. The new feature is available to all Libsyn podcasters starting now.

Libsyn notes that this innovation is ” a simple, effective way to support the growth of other podcasts while generating additional income.”

Key to shows with smaller audiences, this tool allows podcasts to participate — potentially growing in both reach and revenue — without any minimum download requirements. The program is integrated into the Libsyn control panels, so joining up is seamless for client podcasts.

Libsyn bullets the values of this program with four key features:

  • Dynamic Feed Drops: Promoted episodes appear in the second most recent episode slot of the feed, labeled “You Might Also Like,” and include the artwork and direct links for the promoted show.
  • Monetization Beyond Ads: Creators earn revenue for each campaign while maintaining a clean listening experience for their audience.
  • Discovery Engine: Campaigns are matched based on content categories, helping creators promote like-minded shows that resonate with their audience.
  • Transparent Experience: The promoted episode includes the original podcast’s artwork, so listeners know exactly what they’re hearing, along with a standard disclaimer to provide clarity and transparency between creators and audiences.
