Five reasons (that you might not have thought of) to attend RAIN Summit West, April 12 in Las Vegas. (CLICK HERE for registration and info.)

RAIN Summits are famous for their thought-leadership discussion panels. They are obvious reasons to get to Vegas this weekend, or, if you’re already booked, to register for Sunday’s RAIN event. So, since the in-depth, industry-expert discussion panels go without saying, we’ll say no more about them here.

Five reasons you might not have contemplated:

Startups!: For the first time, RAIN Summit West is showcasing streaming audio startups. Many early-stage companies competed for a place onstage, and four winners were selected. They will demo their products, and the audience will vote a favorite. Bragging rights will ensue.

Fastest preso in the west: Welcome to the world of Pecha Kucha, where three presenters will test their nimble presentation skills against an auto-advancing set of slides. Falling behind is trouble. Audience members mustn’t blink either.

Celebrities!: Podcast celebrities featured at this year’s Summit include Tom Leykis, Rob Cesternino, and Norm Pattiz. Speech-giving celebrities include Rdio CEO Anthony Bay and RAIN co-founder Kurt Hanson. (All our panelists and presenters are celebs in their specialties.)

The best chat you’ll find anywhere: RAIN Summits emphasizes networking, and are renowned for connections made, deals proposed, and enduring relationships sparked. The schedule sets aside networking breaks for attendees to mingle; music playlists curated by RAIN News editor Brad Hill.

Cocktails!: The famous RAIN Cocktail Reception ends the day and starts the night. Poolside drinks and stimulating conversation in the warm Las Vegas evening air.

RAIN Summit West is the preeminent information and networking event for the streaming audio industry. It is co-located with the NAB Show, April 12 in Las Vegas. CLICK HERE for more information about panels and speakers, and to register.
