In the most recent report from the newly renamed Edison Podcast Metrics division of Edison Research, we learn of the top 30 U.S. podcast networks as of Q1, by reach, according to Edison’s survey-based tabulation. Edison Podcast Metrics is the only podcast measurement service that measures the relative audience size and demographics of all podcast networks in the U.S. The network ranker is derived from data collected continuously Q2 2021 – Q1 2022, from surveying weekly podcast consumers ages 18 and older in the U.S.
SXM Media is at the top. SXM Media is the combined network sprawl of Sirius XM and its acquired subsidiaries Pandora and Stitcher, as well as its partially-owned SoundCloud streamer. The entire list is interesting to peruse, as it contains network names not often mention in rankers with server-side measurement protocols restricted to the measurement company’s clients. With every podcast in the world available for recognition by Edison’s survey respondents, a more comprehensive view of network reach is shown.
