Edison Research broadens with Podcast Download Metrics, partnering with SoundStack

Global strategic information company Edison Research has partnered with audio technology and services company SoundStack to deliver a new measurement product: Podcast Download Metrics Service.

Edison differentiates this new subscription report as the next step in Edison’s ongoing work to provide the podcast industry with data which informs the advertising industry of the value in podcasting as a marketing realm.

“We see this as the next step in Edison Research’s efforts to provide data to the podcasting industry worldwide that helps bring more advertising dollars into the space.” — Edison Research Senior Vice President and podcasting lead Melissa Kiesche.

Edison surveys 20,000 podcast listeners each year, which provides a detailed and overarching look at podcasting consumption. The new program will provide deeper information to subscribers, Edison says, especially for smaller shows which can otherwise get lost in the big numbers associated with top podcasts.

“The service is designed to be accessible for large networks and independent podcasters alike,”Edison states, “with scalable solutions for publishers of any size.”

Rockie Thomas, Chief Strategy Officer a SoundStack, enthused: “We are excited to bring the technical infrastructure and data that allows Edison to deliver an independent, third-party measurement solution to help the podcasting industry grow.”
