CD Baby now has 1 million songs in its publishing administration

CD Baby announced a new milestone: the company has 1 million songs served by its publishing administration platform. For more than 750,000 of those tracks, CD Baby administers 100% of the publisher shares. A missive from VP of Creator Services Jon Bahr noted that CD Baby also has distributed 9 million recordings, provided YouTube and Facebook monetization for 4 million songs, and is registering 25,000 new publishing songs each month.

“Our global Publishing Administration service is getting these songwriters their rightfully owed money globally and emptying the often discussed many “black boxes” at collection societies,” Bahr said.

Earlier this year, CD Baby reported that it paid out $80 million to indie artists over the course of 2017.
