American Public Media hires Viacom exec as managing director of podcasts

American Public Media has hired Liliana Kim as its new managing director of podcasts. Kim begins the new role on August 19. She joins APM from Viacom, where she was most recently vice president of international content strategy. She also spent four years working on product development and digital distribution at HBO and began her career in public media at PBS.

The public media operation also hired Phyllis Fletcher as a podcast editor earlier this year. Its investigative arm, APM Reports, recently announced plans to release three audio documentaries this year about education and learning.
