Jottings of note:

Joining

iHeartMedia announces that top-ranked self-help podcast On Purpose With Jay Shetty has joined the iHeartPodcast Network. “Vulnerability is a great strength, and that people are stronger together,” the network PR states. Jay Shetty is a best-selling author, award-winning storyteller, former monk and self-titled Chief Purpose Officer of Calm. Past guests have included Selena Gomea, Kendall Jenner, Kevin Hart, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and Kobe Bryant. The podcast publishes twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, and reaches over 20-million listeners. It has won a Webby Award.

Serving the Underserved

Podcast hosting platform Libsyn announces a full translation of its service for Spanish-speaking creators has been accomplished. “The Spanish-language integration represents an important step in Libsyn’s ongoing commitment to creator empowerment for traditionally underserved populations like the Hispanic community,” the company states. There is even Spanish-speaking customer service now available. Libsyn says other languages are in the works.

No Longer Live

Spotify sent a notice to subscribers with this brief message: “The Spotify Live app will shut down on April 30, 2023. You can still join any rooms or artist events until then. We’re excited to bring more live events to Spotify in the future. Stay tuned!” Spotify Live was created during the brief mania for live conversational streaming, arguably begun with the launch of Clubhouse, a live audio gathering app which lost its momentum but is still operating.
