The speculation is that Goldman will act as CEO of Deezer’s U.S. operation, whenever that much-awaited expansion happens. Deezer has expressed its intent to plunge into the U.S. subscription music market, most recently by its CEO Axel Dauchez who said the launch would happen sometime this year.

Goldman is an entrepreneur who formerly held top executive roles with Movielink and Buzz Media.

Deezer would enter an increasingly crowded U.S. online-music market, recently stirred by the Beats Music launch. YouTube is also credibly rumored to be preparing a subscription music service.
