7digital names GM of North America to further U.S. business

james priestley 300wLondon-based Digital Music company 7digital has named James Priestley, formerly VP of Business Development in London, as General manager of North America. Priestley’s purview will include operations and business developmentĀ in the U.S., Canada, and LatinĀ America.

“James has been an extremely valuable part of the 7digital team for close to a decade, during which he helped launch countless partners that have really accelerated our growth,” said Simon Cole, CEO of 7digital. “His insight and experience in digital media, marketing, and business development provides the exact type of leadership we need to further expand our presence and client base in North America.”

7digital owns a technology infrastructure that provides white-label enabling of music streaming and downloading. The company’s U.S. business is well along, with clients including Mariposa, Pledge Music, The Overflow, ROK Mobile, urRadio, CrowdTunes, and several more.

“There is a gigantic opportunity for growth in North America,” said Priestley.

James Priestley has been with 7digital since 2006, first as a production manager, then moving through successive roles. He had pre-7digital stints at Warner Music Group and Guardian Group.
