Acast strengthens European reach with new hire
International podcast giant Acast has hired Liv Sandberg, who joins the company from TikTok where she was General Manager for Global Business Solutions across Central Europe and the Nordics. That role spanned 17 markets. Sandberg will be relieved of that weighty title and become SVP Europe for Acast. That new job starts in early 2027 (exact date unspecified) and she will report to Acast CEO Greg Glenday. Before her TikTok stint Sandberg was Head of Agency at Meta, responsible for its agency relationships in the Nordics, and before that was CEO of media agency Starcom Nordics — part of Publicis Groupe — where she worked for 17 years across client service and operations. Sandberg is on the board of IAB Sweden. “Europe is growing quickly for us and the opportunity ahead is bigger still,” noted Glenday. “Bringing it together under a leader of Liv’s standing is the obvious next move.” Sandberg made this observation: “I’ve spent my career watching new formats move from experiment to essential, and podcasting is at that same inflection point now.”
Flightcast bolsters video advertising capabilities
Flightcast, a video-first podcast hosting and distribution platform, announces an expansion of its video advertising services. Starting immediately, advertisers can deliver their video ads across Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and traditional RSS-based distribution. This economical solution gives publishers a unified solution to monetize video podcast audiences across platforms via a single workflow. The company observes that while video podcast consumption has grown, monetization hasn’t always kept pace; hence this solution. “Publishers shouldn’t need a different monetization system for every platform their audience uses,” said Rox Codes, CEO and Co-Founder of Flightcast. This new distribution product expands on Flightcast’s existing support for video podcast advertising. For publishers satisfied with traditional audio advertising against video content, with the audio ad accompanied by a static video, that route remains available.
