Continuing the rollout of semifinalists in the Fifth Annual RAIN Internet Radio Awards, today we are pleased to announce the six webcasts moving into the semifinal round of the Streaming Broadcast Station category.

The single winners of all five categories will be revealed and honored at RAIN Summit Indy, September 9, in Indianapolis.

This category honors broadcast stations that execute the best streaming strategy. Stations enter their own webcast streams for consideration. Previous winners in the category include ESPN/Minneapolis (2010), CJNW/Edmonton (2011), ESPN (2012), and WEEI/Boston (2013).

Congratulations to this year’s semfinalists:

  • WBCN Free Form Rock: An incarnation of “the greatest progressive rock radio station ever, anywhere.”
  • WWOZ: Listener, supported, volunteer-driven, non-profit community radio station serving New Orleans.
  • 98.1 Classical KING FM: Public radio, five streams, in-studio live videos, on-demand archives, smartphone apps. Classical music.
