Database and search engine Podchaser has released its first Power Score, a ranking success metric of recently released podcasts. This exercise is intended for advertisers, publicists, and researchers identify high-impact shows. The results provide a comparative measure of success and standing in the podcast ecosystem.
Called Podchaser 25, the ranker provides title, short description, publisher, hosting provider, podcast category, and a proprietary Power Score. That score presumably goes up to 100; the March edition’s #1-ranking podcast (The Book Club) is ranked at 81.
This is a good discovery tool for listeners seeking fresh titles that have attracted meaningful audiences.
Beyond the monthly ranker, Podchaser offers over five million shows in the database, all searchable by category, demographic, hot guests, and more. User playlists are supported, and an API is available for developers.
