From Edison Research, we receive an update on its continued measurement of podcast listening on television. The survey is part of the quarterly Edison Podcast Metrics project, measuring the habits and preferences of 13+ podcast consumers.
“Almost every U.S. household has a television in it, many more than one.” Edison observes. TV programming has broadened over years, and this year marks a starting trend of listening to and viewing podcasts.
As shown in the chart below, podcast consumption on TV has been a rising trend for the last six years.

It’s important to emphasize that the graph indicates more than just sometimes listening on TV — it is “most often” using TV for podcasts.
It would be interesting to know what percentage of those respondents, if any, do not own smartphones.
