Kast Media announces post-bankruptcy “fresh sart”; Matty Staudt is CEO

“Kast made mistakes; we own them. But the scars are the blueprint” — Kast Media

With that earnest declamation, podcast network Kast Media announces its return from bankruptcy, with veteran podcast executive and producer Matty Staudt taking the CEO position.

Staudt itemizes his ey responsibilities:

  • Overseeing monetization strategies across all Kast-owned and third-party shows.
  • Spearheading the relaunch of Kast within the creator ecosystem, with a focus on innovation and sustainable growth.
  • Sourcing, onboarding, and managing relationships with third-party creators.
  • Leading the development and production of new shows, from initial outreach to deal negotiation and closure.
  • Driving partnerships, content strategy, and business development to reestablish Kast as a leading name in the audio entertainment space.

Staudt, who sits on the Board of Governors at The Podcast Academy,  career has taken him through executive roles with Jam Street Media and Audacy. He has worked in the industry for more than two decades, and started his broadcast career at age 16. 

 

“This is a fresh start for Kast.” said Staudt. “I’m excited to help shape what comes next.”

Regarding Staudt’s appointment, Founder and Chief Creative Officer Colin Thomson observed: “Matty brings a wealth of experience and expertise. I’m tremendously excited to work with him in revitalizing and honing Kast’s operations moving forward.”
