iHeart preps annual Podcast Awards; nominees released

iHeartMedia has released the host and nominees for the 2026 iHeartPodcast Awards, which this year is co-produced with South by Southwest (SXSW). As last year, the ceremony will be staged at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX. The date of this evening event is Monday, March 16. Actress, comedian and host of the “Thanks Dad” podcast, Ego Nwodim, will emcee this year’s

Naturally, the ceremony will be simulcast on iHeartRadio stations (some of them) and via the iHeartRadio app. The climactic award is Podcast of the Year, determined by listener voting. (All other award choices result from an industry panel.) Three so-called Icon Awards will be granted: Social Impact, Audible Audio Pioneer Award, and Innovator Award, in recognition of groundbreaking contributions.

Jay Shetty, renowned author and host of the acclaimed podcast “On Purpose,” will be honored with the 2026 Social Impact Award for leveraging his platform to spark meaningful conversations around mental health. Through empathy, insight and intention, he has helped millions turn self-reflection into meaningful change.

Famous NPR personality Terry Gross, host of Fresh Air, will receive the 2026 Audible Audio Pioneer Award to recognize how her work “redefined the art of the interview through curiosity, rigor and deep empathy.” See the event website HERE, if you think your eyes can take the dazzle.
