Here are the RAIN Awards single-stream webcaster semifinalists

In just two weeks, we’ll present the fourth-annual RAIN Internet Radio Awards at RAIN Summit Orlando (September 17).

This week, we’re happy to reveal the semi-finalists in each of the Awards’ five categories, beginning today with the “Best Single Stream Webcaster” category. We’ll reveal the finalists for all five categories next week.

The following webcasters were among the best pureplay webcasters with a single stream of radio content from all our entrants. Past winners of this award include RootHogRadio.com (2012), HealthRadio.net (2011), and Hard Radio (2010). We congratulate these semi-finalists, and encourage you to check out why we felt their services deserved to make the final round of judging:

  • Fusion Radio Commercial dance, house, electro, and trance music. Based in Chicago
  • idobi  Alternative rock, and third most-listened-to pureplay webcaster in Triton Digital’s Webcast Metrics domestic rankings
  • Paladin Radio CHR/Top 40 radio, with weekend specialty shows
  • Planet Candela bills itself as Hot Hits in English and Spanish, and has an on-air staff
  • Soul City Radio from Baltimore, it specializes in Soul, Neo-Soul, R&B, and Jazz, and has a new morning show
  • Stoke Radio A webcaster dedicated to the music and lifestyle of the sport of “stand-up paddling” (true!)
  • The Blast Christian metal with high bitrate streams

Thanks to all the services that entered our Awards this year. We created the RAIN Internet Radio Awards to better recognize the achievements and the best practices of our industry, and have presented them at the last three RAIN Summit fall events. Read more about the Awards here.
