Digital dashboards and connected cars in focus at RAIN Summit West

RAIN Summit West, now in its 13th year with a full-day agenda of panels and presentations, will shine an illuminating light on the sometimes bewildering field of connected cars and digital dashboards. RAIN Summit West will occur on Sunday, April 6th in Las Vegas. (See the full agenda and speaker list here.)

The Summit’s coverage of in-car audio follows eagerly-received discussions in past Summits. 2014 has already been an eventful year for automakers connecting with music and audio providers. Google announced its Open Automotive Alliance, which promises something resembling an Android car this year. Apple’s CarPlay initiativPaulHeinee is already rolling onto the road in selected car models.

Automakers appear to be driving down multiple private roads with digital dashboard systems. Today’s new cars feature integrated dashboards that put the consumer in the driver’s seat, letting them choose among a vast array of media entertainment. How should you adapt your strategy to compete in today’s marketplace? A panel of auto entertainment industry experts will discuss the streaming auto opportunity.

Paul Heine, Senior Editor of Inside Radio, will moderate the “Dashboard Dynamics” panel during RAIN Summit West. Panelists include Mike Bergman, Senior Director, Technology & Standards (Consumer Electronics Association); George Lynch, VP, Automotive Business Development (Pandora); Ty Roberts, Co-Founder/ CTO (Gracenote); Carl Rohling, VP, Sales & Business Development (TuneIn); Scott Burnell, Global Lead, Business Development & Partner Management (Ford).

RAIN Summit West is a co-located educational partner event to the NAB Show. The agenda comprises panel discussions on key topics affecting the online audio industry, keynote speeches, and thought-leader “POV” speeches.
