Country music streaming reached a new high for the week of April 9. Nielsen Music/MRC Data found that country music racked up 1.244 billion on-demand audio streams for that week. That result marks a new high, besting the 1.201 billion audio streams from the week ending March 5.
When looking at combined audio and video, the total for the week was 1.389 billion. This is the highest result in eight months, just shy of the 1.397 billion set in the week ending Aug. 8, 2019.
The latest figures mark a third consecutive week of gains for country music. As of that week, country accounted for 7.19% of all on-demand audio streams in the year to date. At this point in 2019, country had a 6.92% share of all on-demand audio streams.
