The Podcast Academy announces that submissions are open for the 2027 Ambies, the preeminent awards celebration of podcasting. There is a submission fee of $160 for Academy members, or $210 for non-members.
Along with this we learn of two new podcast categories for 2027:
- Best Music Podcast: Celebrating outstanding podcasts centered on music, artists, and music culture.
- Episode of The Year: Recognizing one exceptional episode for its storytelling, originality, production, and impact.
In an even more significant addition, Advertising advertising becomes a content category, joining Shows and Talent. Three awards will be granted within this new content type:
- Best Ad Read
- Best Branded Podcast
- Podcast Advertiser of The Year
- Twenty-three show recognition categories are laid out:

- Documentary

- Entertainment
- Episode (new category)
- Fiction
- History
- Interview
