Canadian media/data company Numeris has released its AM/FM Radio Listening study for winter 2025. The word “solace” is interestingly used to describe Canadians’ use of in-home radio during the cold season.
Not to say that streaming is ignored by Canadians — it is not — but metrics for digital listening do not appear in this report. Instead, we find a brisk single-page PDF presentation of AM/FM’s penetration in three of Canada’s major metered markets (Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary). Here’s that breakout:

A second breakout illustrates in-home radio tuning in six Canadian markets. As shown below, Montreal has the highest proportion of in-home tuning in both 2024 and 2025:

We also learn about time-spent, with Montreal French listening leading the pack with 8.4 hours per week on average for French listening, and 8.0 hours for English listening.
