Shazam looks ahead at possible break-out artists of 2015

Shazam logo canvasShazam jumped on the bandwagon of 2014 roundups with a listing of the top tracks and artists tagged in the song ID program. The findings fell pretty well in line with what Spotify and other music services have been reporting, but Shazam added some interesting predictions to its blog post by noting some of the artists it expects to break out in 2015.

It highlighted several up-and-coming rap acts, including Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd, and DeJ Loaf. Echosmith was noted as one of the top Shazamed acts in the U.S. Sam Hunt and Maddie & Tae represented country, and pop represented with James Bay, Years & Years, and Raury. The two dance acts were Oliver Heldens and Tchami.

The Atlantic recently profiled Shazam’s potential as a hit tracker and scouting tool for labels, so its artist recommendations could carry some serious weight behind the scenes.
