PodcastOne inks Forbes to develop new network

Forbes and PodcastOne have announced a partnership to create a “Forbes on PodcastOne” network of on-demand audio. In what appears to be a deep creative business relationship, the two companies will collaborate on production, distribution, promotion, marketing, and advertising sales.

Topical categories currently planned include video gaming, sports, tech, and hip-hop, with initial emphasis on business, women, and tech.

Four new programs are slated for launch:

PodcastOne Founder and Executive Chairman Norm Pattiz emphasized the significance of this alliance in the PodcastOne trajectory. “We’ve had a lot of ‘oh, wow’ moments at PodcastOne. None bigger than this.”

“The Forbes brand brings with it the history and credibility in not only business, finance and tech, but also sports, women’s issues, entertainment, plus everything and anything that the Forbes and PodcastOne teams will develop together,” Pattiz said.

Lewis DVorkin is Forbes Media Chief Product Officer. “We need to be a part of the world of distributed content — and there’s no better partner than the leading podcast network PodcastOne to propel our growth in the audio space and further drive our audience development efforts,” DVorkin said.

The “Forbes on PodcastOne” network will be available at Forbes.com, PodcastOne.com, the PodcastOne app, and iTunes. Forbes.com serves about 50-million monthly unique visitors. PodcastOne features a portfolio of 200 programs which were downloaded 1.5-billion times in 2015.
