Rdio adds free radio option for New Zealand

Rdio announced an update to its service in New Zealand, opening up free ad-supported Internet radio to listeners in that country. According to the press release, Rdio’s online radio features 20 times more music than comparable services. The playlists include stations seeded by artist or genre in addition to the human-curated stations for moods or activities. The updates are available on the Rdio app and website in the New Zealand market.

Rdio has made international expansion a major agenda. It was the first international streaming company to foray into India, and it also opened up service in 24 nations across the Carribean, Central America, and Asia Pacific last month.
