Jottings of note:
Podcast network Airwave has signed a deal with the venerable TWiT.tv podcast network. TWIT = This Week In Tech, and is one of the longest-running tech podcast networks, founded in 2005. The arrangement will encompass TWiT.tv’s flagship show, This Week in Tech, and 12 other tech podcasts. Podcast sales agency True Native Media is involved in this, and will represent the alliance. True Native founder Heather Osgood observes: “TWIT is a true powerhouse in tech media, and we’re thrilled about the opportunities this collaboration creates for advertisers and the TWiT community.” Formal announcement HERE.
“That’s it – I’m leaving Acast. Three words that almost feel surreal for me to type…” — that from Joe Copeman, announcing that he is leaving his role as Global SVP Advertising at Acast. “After an incredible 11 years helping to build this incredibly special business, it’s the right time for me to craft a new chapter elsewhere.” He reminisces about his first day: “Just a handful of us in a tiny room in King’s Cross, London […] What even was podcasting back then?” He thanks his colleagues and the agencies and advertisers with whom he did business, and the platform’s “brilliant podcasters.” Read it HERE.
In the “What Are They Doing Now?” department, we note that Neal Schore (ex-President and CEO of Triton Digital for 15 years) has launched leadership development firm 25th Hour Group. The mission is to help leaders get more done in less time and elevate their impact, while enjoying the work they do — without burnout. (“We help high-impact leaders get out of their own way,” the website confirms.) Jacqueline Davis is partnering; she has a long resume gleaming with executive and board positions.
