Post-acquisition Promotion

Audioboom announces a new executive appointment, naming Craig Eastwood as Vice President, International. Eastwood brings a history of leadership in radio and advertising, most recently as Commercial Operations Director at podcast monetization platform Adelicious (recently acquired by Audioboom as reported HERE), and before that as Head of Planning for radio and digital audio ad agency RadioWorks Group in the UK. “,” Craig’s leadership has been central to that journey, and he is the right person to help drive the group’s next phase of global growth,” said said Stuart Last, CEO of Audioboom. “His deep understanding of both the operational and commercial sides of podcasting, makes him the ideal person to take on this expanded role and this appointment marks an important step as we build the next phase of Audioboom’s global growth.”

Acquiring Daylight

LA-based Qcode, specialist in narrative podcasts and cross-media expansions, has announced a partnership with Daylight Media, a startup for creators that offers scaling across audio, video, and emerging platforms. Daylight brings audience development and marketing services, IP expansion, and various technology and product solutions. Daylight has recently benefited from a fundraising round led by Eldridge Industries, a diversified investment company whose portfolio includes the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Golden Globes. Qcode’s podcast portfolio tallies up 150 million monthly views and downloads. In this partnership, Qcode founder/CEO Rob Herting will take over CEO leadership of Daylight Media. Ben Curtis will serve as President; he was an early investor in QODE and has been an advisor to the company. Video podcasts are an important part of the mix; the announcement observes that “lines between talk television and weekly podcasts [are] continuing to blur.”

New Chapter

“I’m beyond excited to be starting my next chapter as Bumper’s Director of Strategy.” That’s Lindsay Adams, newly positioned Director of Strategy at podcast data and growth advisory Bumper. She emerges from a year-long career hiatus during which she gave birth to her first child and the family moved to Toronto. Before this appointment she spent time at CNN and PRX. Her goal is to help clients grow their shows, and to help develop the Bumper Dashboard, a high-level proprietary platform for measuring podcast performance.
