Monetized SoundCloud streams will count toward UK charts

SoundCloud announced that it will have a presence on the Official Charts Company in the UK. All plays of licensed, monetized tracks on SoundCloud will be counted towards chart performance. SoundCloud streams are already included on select charts in the U.S. and in Canada.

SoundCloud has had an active year after securing an eleventh-hour deal with investors to avoid selling itself. The audio platform brought on a new general counsel, a new head of consumer business, and a leader for content partnerships.
