Grooveshark is back. Again.

A new illegal clone of the illegal streaming site Grooveshark sprang to life in recent months. It has been appearing as the top hit in Google searches for “grooveshark,” and that has helped it to gain interest, particularly in Brazil and the U.S.

The original Grooveshark site formally shuttered in May 2015 after several court cases and large financial difficulties. The service almost immediately returned as a series of clones under different top-level domains. Even though the RIAA successfully sued a clone and won both a $17 million settlement and the rights to the domain name, that appears insufficient to dissuade people who want the legacy to continue.
