Bauer Media acquires SBS Discovery Radio

European media giant Bauer Media has acquired Nordic broadcaster SBS Discovery Radio, from Discovery Communications pending regulatory approval.

Sources at SBS Discovery confirmed the news, but did not immediately comment.

SBS Discovery radio reaches an audience of at least 10-million listeners via broadcast, and more than four-million people via digital platforms and online streaming. Radio brands include Mix Megapool, Rockklassiker, and Radio Norge.

Bauer Media is a hamburg-based media conglomerate that publishes hundreds of magazines and 50 radio and TV stations. the company’s radio brands reached 17-million listeners in the U.K. in Q4, 2014.

Terms of the acquisition have not been reported.
