Alex Cooper (“Call Her Daddy”) launches Gen Z podcast network

Leading podcast entrepreneur and Spotify star Alex Cooper, creator of Call Her Daddy, is forming a podcast company with her fiancee Matt Kaplan (Founder/CEO of ACE Entertainment). The company is called The Unwell Network. Moorea Mongelli, former director of podcasts at Studio 71, is also on the founding team.

Cooper and Kaplan are a recently engaged couple.

The Unwell Network will be organizationally folded into Trending, a media company launched by Cooper earlier this year with Kaplan.

The venture is reported to be a Gen z-focused enterprise. ” Our team is delighted to bring the Gen Z audience content tailored just for them,” said Mongelli in a statement.

Cooper signed a $60-million deal with Spotify, making her podcast an exclusive to the streaming platform. That arrangement does not change.
