“Naming Vewd as a smart TV scaling partner is a key moment for our OTT strategy,” said Alex Kisch, EVP of business development and affairs as well as general counsel for Vevo. “With the tremendous scale afforded by Vewd’s far reaching network of television partners, Vevo will have the opportunity to tap into important and growing markets, bringing some of the most sought-after content to new audiences and creating value for our artists, songwriters, labels and publishing partners.”
Vevo has been working to move past its early start as a YouTube offshoot. Although it refocused its efforts back on YouTube last year, the company has been pushing more into connected televisions. It already has an app available on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon’s Fire TV.
