Rocki adds support for Spotify Connect

Rocki has added Spotify to its roster of supported audio services. Rocki makes a device that plugs into traditional speaker systems and gives them WiFi capability. With the addition of Spotify Connect, owners of the Rocki device can listen to and control their music from within the Spotify mobile app. The company, which launched the Rocki through a Kickstarter project, also has partnerships with Deezer, SoundCloud, and Last.fm.

Spotify seems to be interested in furthering the development of its Connect service. Following on the slew of WiFi speaker announcements at CES 2015, a rep from the streaming service indicated that it would be focused on “owning the technology end-to-end.” Spotify Connect was also recently incorporated into a new dedicated WiFi speaker from Philips.
