“Record Q3 performance” — Audioboom Q3 and “operational gearing”

“We continue to build a sustainable platform that supports independent creators globally.” Stuart Last, Audioboom CEO

Global podcast company Audioboom released Q3 earnings today. Company shares are traded on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) within the London Stock Exchange.

In its announcement, Audioboom is trumpeting “Record Q3 performance in all key financial metrics.” Four key metrics are emphasized:

On that final point, the Board now expects that Audioboom will generate an increased adjusted EBITDA for the year ending 31 December 2026 of at least US$7.7 million

Although the report is formally a Q3 update, Audioboom also brags of similar record performance for the first nine months of its fiscal year. The specs for that larger focus are below:

Audioboom brags of “high operational gearing” — a situation where a company has a high proportion of fixed costs relative to operational costs — meaning that when fixed costs are covered, all or most additional revenue can move directly to the profit column. Audioboom describes how this principle creates its margin:

“The Company is now benefitting from high operational gearing: the US$3.5 million year-on-year increase in Q3 revenue delivered a US$1.0 million increase in adjusted EBITDA, an incremental margin in excess of 25%.”

Three fiscal notes seem important to us:

“The powerful dynamics of our platform business model were on full show in Q3 2026.” — Stuart Last, CEO
