Headliner, an audience growth tool for podcasters, today releases a new tool called Automatic Clips for Back Catalog. The main thrust is to keep past podcast episodes attracting new audiences by socializing key moments. Headliner is well known for Full Episode Audiogram Automation tool. The new development seeks to keep older episodes current, active, and discoverable by automatically clipping and posting standout moments. The central technology here is Headliner’s clipping AI, which has been in the market for five years. The company says its tech is “rooted in millions of minutes of social listening, viewer behavior, and clip creation.” The company’s user base totals more than 1.5 million podccasters.
In an extension of an existing relationship, iHeartMedia will be the exclusive audio partner for the Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games in February. iHeart will provide 24/7 play-by-play audio channels of NBCUniversal’s linear coverage of the Games. iHeart’s podcast Two Guys, Five Rings is part of the deal, as well as certain specialty episodes in other iHM podcasts. “Coming off the tremendous success we had in Paris, we’re excited to renew this partnership with iHeartMedia and provide fans with the best Olympic audio content,” said Aileen Sokol, VP, Content Partnership Development, NBC Sports.
Susan Stamberg, a radio pioneer who was the first woman to anchor a national evening news broadcast, has died shortly after beginning her retirement. She was on the air for 50 years. She broke in as anchor of All Things Considered and hosted that show for 14 years, a span of rapid expansion for the NPR network. She was one of NPR’s so-alled Founding Mothers, along with Nina Totenberg, Linda Wertheimer and Cokie Roberts. Stamberg was 87.
