Google refocuses operating system project to smart speakers and smart displays

It has an Android Things software development kit available to developers for making apps for this specific product segment.

Most assessments of the global smart speaker market show Google securely in the second spot behind Amazon. It’s Google Home Mini has been an especially strong mover, with a low price point appealing to consumers who are curious about smart speakers.
