Global launches video podcast studio; also new sports division

London-based media and entertainment group Global has splashed a double announcement.

First, the creation of Global Studios, described as a “new creative powerhouse for video-first podcast brands. That specific niche is a new focus for Global. The intent is to bring “creator-led video together with award-winning audio brands, giving advertisers access to integrated, multi-platform campaigns across Global’s radio, digital and outdoor networks.”

Expanding into video in a major way is a natural next step for Global,” asserted Group CEO Simon Pitts. He noted that lines between audio and video are rapidly blurring; audiences and brands increasingly expect integrated experiences.

Additionally, Sport by Global launches as a new sports entertainment division. That enterprise intends to bring three groups — athletes, rights holders, and brands — closer to fans.

Chief Commercial Officer Mike Gordon said, “Proving outcomes matters more than ever.”
