Deezer has added support for the Google Home smart speaker in select markets. The voice controls let you access your Deezer library, and Google Home owners can ask the device directly to play their Flow playlist, a lean-back selection of personalized music choices. The streaming service is rolling out the integration first in France and Germany. It plans to add support in the U.S., UK, Australia, and Canada later this year.
Google Home is one of the newer options in smart home speakers. The Amazon Echo is still the leader in this niche, but integrations with the most valuable and popular services could give one of the more recent releases a boost. Although the field for smart speakers is new, presentations from both Edison/NPR and Borrell point to the devices as promising tools for broadcasting and audio.
