Gethard’s formal statement in the press release: “‘With pride in our 400-episode milestone and excitement for the next 400, Libsyn AdvertiseCast will be an invaluable partner as we forge new and meaningful relationships with advertisers and expand our reach to more listeners through our unfiltered, deeply personal, and powerful conversations about life, which have become the hallmark of our show.”
“AdvertiseCast has offered me a five-year contract […] and I cannot thank them enough.” –Chris Gethard, Host and Producer, “Beautiful Anonymous”
Gethard emphasized the back catalog. Even though weekly listening is down, he confided, “We still have this passionate, dedicated fan following that goes and consumes the whole back catalog when they discover the show. Apparently it’s this massively powerful thing that’s been an underutilized sleeping giant. And there were a bunch of companies that said, ‘We could do some damage with this’.”
He disclosed that the agreement involves a pay cut from the show’s previous arrangement (with a different network). “The numbers were down; of course there’s a pay cut! But it’s one that is fair.”
He observed that he own the whole back catalog and the RSS feed.”
