Streaming meets Shuffle in the Mighty Audio

For those people who miss the days of the iPod Shuffle, a new Kickstarter project aims to give fresh life to portable listening. Mighty Audio promises to be a mobile listening device free from a smartphone.

Once you sync up the device with your phone, it can locally store up to 48 hours of offline Spotify music. It also requires a premium subscription to use. The appearance and controls call back to the Shuffle, a small clip-on object that can be used with headphones or, interestingly, speakers. And for just $80, it could be a promising alternative for athletes or adventurers who don’t want to take an expensive smartphone potentially into harm’s way.
