Rina Chandran, Deputy Editor at nonprofit digital publication Rest of World, has posted her interview with Spotify SVP Gustav Gyllenhammar about Spotify’s AI future. We learn that Spotify’s user growth in those markets outside of Europe and North America have been experiencing faster expansion than established markets for many years, and they are also the fastest growing subscription markets. In the discussion around non-English music, we are told that Lui Fonsi’s colossal hit Despacito has been streamed over four billion times, and has catalyzed the growth of non-English music. Many other insights about international markets, AI music, and the vinyl/cassette revival. Get it HERE.
