Podcast hosting and monetization platform Libsyn announces that it has surpassed a meaningful benchmark: It has exceeded $100 million in payouts to podcast creators on its platform. The company credits “powerful new tools and high-profile partnerships.” The benchmark is 40% more than payouts in the same period a year ago. Total creator earnings from Libsyn total more than $112 million since 2017. “We’re here to fuel your growth and give you the tools to build something lasting,” says CEO Brendan Monaghan.
Podcast rep company Rhapsody Voices is separating from parent organization Evergreen Podcasts, becoming a boutique agency focused on the podcast and creator economy. Evergreen is leading an investment round, in support. The plan is to expand beyond traditional ad sales to offer strategic services across advertising, subscription strategy, live events, merchandise, and emerging business models for creators and media brands. In this shift, POrtland-based Harris Lane takes the helm, following her four years at Kast Media.
Chris Peterson, well known as CEO and Founder of DWNLOAD Media since 2023, has taken a new executive role — he is Vice President of Business Development at digital media investment firm Red Seat Ventures. (The company is named for a red-painted seat in Boston’s Fenway Park, marking Ted Williams’ longest home run in that arena.) Peterson will be seeking M&A opportunities for DWNLOAD. “Red Seat has been behind some of the most successful creator-led ventures in media,” Peterson praises. “We’re building on that momentum in an even bigger way.
