Jottings of note:
AJ Feliciano, well known General Manager of The Roost, and former Vice President and Head of The Roost Podcast Network, is stepping down, and hints that he has a new professional phase lined up. Details of that new career phase are undisclosed, but Feliciano hints with this teaser: “Going dark for a few months and hoping to go live end of summer.” See his declaration HERE.
Alison Craiglow, Executive Producer of Fresh Produce Media and ex-EP of the Freakonomics Radio Network, has introduced a new and deeply personal podcast project, which she describes as “the heartbreaking story of my daughter Regan, who died last year of fentanyl poisoning after a struggle with mental health and substance use challenges.” Craiglow will self-produce this venture, with a mission to expose the extent to which “American lives are derailed or destroyed by substance abuse.” She asks for funding support for his audio documentary, HERE.
John O’Donnell, Founder & CEO at Viral Tribe Entertainment, fashions an interesting podcast metric comparing Apple Charts with Spotify Plays. It’s a snapshot, not conclusive but certainly diverting. “No judgment,” he says. “Just an interesting exercise.” Discussion HERE.
Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon will produce and co-host a new reality competition series featuring Americans pitching brand ideas to major marketers. “Some are influencers, others swim instructors,” Fallon says. Winning concepts will be produced — quickly: the promotional material promises winning ideas up on billboards (and, we hope, in our earbuds) the next day. Co-hosting the show is author and ex-CMO at Netflix, Bozoma Saint John. More info HERE.
