Silver Sounds, a Manhattan production company, has launched the inaugural NYC Podcast Awards. The founding rationale is to bring light to under-recognized creators and creator communities.

A complex matrix of awards will be distributed:
- Editing
- Sound Design
- Sound Mixing
- Artwork
- Original Score
- Theme Song or Sonic Branding,
- Innovation (“Breaking Conventions”)
The cost of submission to the NYC Podcast Awards is spread among three tiers:
- Student: $75
- Independent: $100
- Company: $150

Silver Sound operates the Silver Podcast Network, described as “emerging” and designed to “help exceptional audio from around the world find its audiences.” Clients include ESPN, Netflix, The New York Times, Apple, Spotify, National Geographic, and The New Yorker.
